I’m Josh. I’m overweight, and I woke up one day in the worst shape of my life, and nearing fifty years old. So I challenged myself. In two years can I be in the best shape of my life? Is setting such a tough goal a smart thing to do? Would you believe me if I said I understand the trap of setting deadlines to being healthy and I am moving forward anyway? Bring it on, fifty. Bring it on.

Ok, that was awful. I admit it. Forgive my title humor, I’m old. Yet that’s kind of the point of the post. My childhood was the 80s. High school and college was the 90s. I rode BMX bikes through the country side of Ohio, collected Transformers and GI Joe, played Atari and Nintendo. And now, I’m closing in on 50 and I’m trying to bring my analog, rusting body into the future. And it’s tough. I laughed a little during my workout today when my left arm just did not want to continue bicep curls. It was like, nope, I’m done, you can go on without me. But I pressed on, like 80s kids do. Crash a bike, fall from a tree, get eaten by an alligator in Pitfall, we just get back up. And like a good 80s video game that never ends and you just keep playing, so shall I.
